The police operatives of Sokoto State have reportedly arrested one Nasiru Idris after discovering he has 101 permanent voter cards (PVCs).
According to the Commissioner of Police, Hussain Gumel, Nasiru was arrested in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of the state.
Gumel explained that the suspect did not reveal how he got the PVCs.

He said, “It is envisaged that owners of these cards are not only from Sabon Birni local government but could be from other parts of the state because we could not trace the rightful owners of the PVCs.”
The commissioner also urged members of the public to report to the command headquarters for missing or misplaced PVCs.
However, he added that after one month, the police would return all the remaining cards (that are not claimed) to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
