Ayra Starr, the Nigerian singer who was recently featured on Barack Obama’s 2022 favorite music playlist, has opened up about what she did before making the list.
In an interview with NME, the 20-year-old singer revealed that she had prayed and hoped to make the former US president’s playlist someday.

Recounting the exciting moment, Ayra Starr said she was in the shower when she made the prayer, and the following morning after her prayer, she received a post tagged by someone.
Initially, she was confused and couldn’t see the picture, but when she realized that it was Obama’s post and her name was on it, she was excited.
Obama shared his favorite music playlist for 2022, which featured Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, and Rema.
