A story of determination: Black Engineer resigns to pursue dream of becoming a pilot and succeeds

After years of earning engineering degrees, determined Mark White from Delaware achieves his childhood dream of becoming a pilot.

He pursued engineering instead of becoming a pilot, earning two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Delaware in Political Science and Environmental Engineering.

The past three months of airline training have been challenging yet rewarding. 

Mark White obtained a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Later, he worked as an engineer with General Electric before leaving to pursue his dream.

Mark White, who is now a pilot, explained that he resigned from his engineering job in July to pursue his passion for flying. He feels fortunate to have found something he loves that is also his career.
