Charcoal seller’s son gains admission into Yale Medical School after facing rejection 15 times

A young man defied all odds and achieved his dream of getting admission into Yale Medical school despite being rejected 15 times.

The man named Shadrack Osei Frimpong shared this feat on his LinkedIn page.

He said:

“Today, the charcoal seller’s son got accepted into YALE MEDICAL SCHOOL. I AM GOING TO BE A DOCTOR!! And I’ll be the first doctor in my family’s generational line!”

The young man shared that it was humbling interviewing at some of the top medical schools in the world.

Shadrack recounted that the journey was not easy as he applied to 15 different medical schools and was rejected by all.

He shared his painful experience of losing close friends and family even telling him that maybe it wasn’t the will of God.

He took corrections and reworked his applications

However, Frimpong didn’t give up but believed in God’s word. Rather he called up schools he was rejected at and asked what he could do better to gain admission.

He reworked his application and fixed every weakness possible. Frimpong put his plans on hold to study some more and fine tune tasks he felt led by God to do.

He went on to make health and social impact. To do so, he proceeded to;

-Get 2 masters from Penn and Yale, graduating with top prizes.

-Win the prestigious Gates-Cambridge to do a PhD at Cambridge.

-Publish 12+ manuscripts in 2 years.

-Be awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science Degree from a top 25 U.K university.

Along the way, he founded a stealth tech startup that completed a multi-million dollar valuation fundraising where he assumed the Chief Science Officer role.

He was grateful to everyone who helped him on his journey and hoped his story inspired others to trust God.
