Nigerian superstar, David Adedeji Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, was named among the AFRO Award 2022 winners in Los Angeles, California.
Davido has been trending on all social media platforms over the death of his three-year-old son who died after drowning in the singer’s residential swimming pool.
Founder and Executive Producer of The Afro Awards, Taiwo Oduala disclosed that Davido and his uncle who is currently the governor-elect of Osun State, Ademola Jackson-Adeleke are both awardees of the California award.

He also disclosed that the Founder & CEO of the Pan African Film Festival, Ayuko Babu, a renowned Nigerian Journalist, Seye Kehinde, and the First Lady of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Fatima Maada are awardees alongside the aforementioned.

Taiwo said, “The main focus of the award is to support people who have demonstrated exceptional humanitarian excellence in various fields.”
