Gift Orban: Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Fulham send scouts to watch Nigerian striker

Gift Orban has been attracting interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Fulham as the clubs have sent scouts to watch the Gent striker.

The 20-year-old has scored 19 times in 19 games so far this season in the Belgian Pro League and Europa Conference League, at a rate of a goal every 75 minutes.

Nigerian Gift Orban played for Gent in both legs of their Conference League quarter-final defeat by West Ham in April and is enjoying a breakthrough campaign.

He also helped Gent secure another season in Europe with five goals in three play-off matches.

A host of Europe’s top clubs have sent scouts to watch him play but Gent does not need to sell one of their key assets and a player they only signed from Norwegian side Stabaek at the end of January.

Gift Orban is under contract until 2027 and Gent would only be tempted to sell for a huge fee. It is also understood that Gift Orban is happy to stay and develop in Belgium for longer before seeking a move.

Ivan Toney linked with Brentford exit

Ivan Toney could be set for a Brentford exit, despite being given an eight-month ban for 232 breaches of Football Association rules on players placing bets.

A number of top Premier League sides are willing to test Brentford’s resolve as Toney’s contract ends in 2025 and it is unknown whether he would be willing to sign an extension. Toney could move in January – when his ban ends – or may even secure a transfer this summer.

“Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United are all admirers of the Brentford striker who has scored 20 goals in 33 games this season.

“They may even consider making offers before the January window to try and sign him up ahead of rival clubs. He can play again from January 16 but will be able to train with his club again from September.

Brentford know Toney’s contract is running down and may have been tempted to sell this summer but this ban has not killed his chances of a move.”
