Nigerian singer Ekenedirichukwu Ijemba, widely recognized as Humble Smith, candidly discussed his arduous journey prior to attaining triumph in the music industry.

At the age of 32, the talented artist disclosed that back in 2015, he found himself on the verge of contemplating begging as a means of survival.

However, during a visit to a church in Lagos to seek assistance, he had a divine revelation that inspired his hit song “Osinachi.”

Humble Smith shared that despite his numerous musical endeavours, including shooting a music video in London, he struggled to gain recognition.

The lyrics of “Osinachi” deeply reflect his personal journey, making it relatable to a wide audience.

He credited the church visit for the song’s creation, stating that he initially intended to beg for money but realized he was not a beggar.

Regarding the collaborations on the song, Humble Smith explained that after recording it, his team suggested featuring a prominent artist to boost its popularity.

They reached out to Phyno, which helped generate significant buzz. Subsequently, Davido expressed interest in remixing the track, further propelling its success.
