Tobi Bakare has revealed the challenges he went through to prepare him for his role in the movie “Gangs of Lagos”.
The movie, which premiered on April 7, 2023, is the first African original production for Amazon Prime, and follows the story of three childhood friends growing up on the rough streets of Isale Eko, Lagos.
The movie has garnered a lot of positive reviews and the actor has been greatly commended for perfectly executing his character in the lead role.
He revealed that it was his first time playing a lead role and he had tear down his walls to be able to fully embody the character.
He revealed that he had to gulp down alcohol, play a sad song and role in the sand to get his emotions in tune with the vulnerability of his character.
