A Nigerian lady, Ibukun Olukoya, said she makes a lot of money driving Uber in Lagos and has had quite some experiences.
According to her, her greatest supporters are men. They are amazed at her audacity in taking up a men-dominated job.
Her passion for the job stems from the fact that she needs funding for her education. Hence, she cannot afford to be idle.

My fellow women are unsupportive
Despite receiving massive support from the male folk, Ibukun regrets that other women do not support her.
The 27-year-old Olukoya, whose weekly target is 80k to 100k, said that other ladies on the platform have also complained about a lack of patronage from fellow women.
In her words: “…others (mostly women) have had to cancel on me because as soon as my picture appears on my profile, they already believe I am incompetent even without having met me. And the reason they do that remains unknown to me.
It makes me really uncomfortable because I feel like women as a community should always have each others’ back no matter what. And this I even like I am at least doing something to help make the world one less of an idle mind. All I ask is a little encouragement from fellow women.”
