I was battling with COVID while writing exams: Nigerian lawyer celebrates being called to Bar in Canada

A Nigerian lawyer has shared with netizens how he got called to the Bar in Ontario, Canada.

Peter Ademu-Eteh shared with netizens the struggles he went through to achieve this feat on his Twitter @PeterPentecost.

He made this achievement in 10 years after being called to the Bar in Nigeria.

I arrived in Canada with nothing but dreams and supportive parents.

Before his arrival in Canada, Peter had never been out of the country. He arrived in 2014 as an immigrant. He had to work full-time while studying to afford the exams at Osgoode Hall Law School.

In his own words, “I was battling COVID-19 when I wrote and passed the bar exam in 2020-2021. I was nauseous and dizzy 24/7. At that time vaccines didn’t exist.” But luckily for him, the exams were to be taken remotely and he completed them in one sitting.

The Nigerian system nearly frustrated me completely

After graduating from Law School in Nigeria, the Supreme court went on strike so he couldn’t get his Lawyer Bar license. He struggled for two years, being tossed about by the Nigerian Bar Association. But all to no avail.

The Lawyer committed the delays into God’s hands and asked him to do it for him before June 2023, and it appears God answered.

Nigerian lady dumps law for fashion design

Meanwhile, a pretty Nigerian woman  traded the gown and wig to pursue a career in fashion.

The lady identified as Maryam Folashade was a graduate of Law but her happiness and fulfillment laid outside the courts.

After spending six years in the university and another year at Law school, she decided to dump her degree for fashion designing.
