A welcome filled with honour: Mother spreads wrapper on the floor for son who bagged a PhD degree despite being mocked

A Nigerian man has done his family proud after he bagged his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree prompting his mother to lay her expensive wrappers on the floor for him to walk on like a king.

The young man identified as Barinuaka Bestman from Ogoni, Niger Delta was captured as he stepped on the wrappers his mother laid on the floor while wearing his graduation gown.

According to Rivers Mirror, the young man was an object of ridicule when he got his undergraduate and Masters degree but unfortunately found no job.

He was mocked because he had to teach tutorial classes, makeup classes, and home lessons in low-income areas just to get by, however, with the support of his siblings and mother he was encouraged to further his education.

The proud mother could not hide her joy at the fact that her son graduated successfully despite the mockery from others, she laid her expensive wrappers for her son to walk through to their house like a king as the new graduate posed for the camera.

Nigerian man celebrates as he and his wife bag PhDs the same day

Meanwhile, a beautiful Nigerian couple warmed the hearts of many after the husband celebrated that he and his wife have successfully gotten their doctorate degrees on the same day.

In a Facebook post, the husband identified as Austine Imoniche Oviosun shared that after many years of waiting and several delays, he and his lovely wife have finally bagged their PhDs at the Department of Anatomy, College of Medicine, University of Nigeria.

According to him, they’ve been studying for the degree for almost five years but due to the Covid19 pandemic and the ASUU strike, they had a little delay, however, the joyous husband shared that they have successfully crossed that bridge.
