Women nowadays try as much as possible to bring equality into their relationship but it may seem that it is not the case for a woman who claims that her husband is the one who bears every financial duty in their home.
In Nigeria, it is not unusual to see men foot the bills in their romantic relationship but some women try as much as possible to render assistance if needed.
However, Shamim Mayanja, a Ugandan Journalist and actress believes otherwise as she boldly stated that she has never handled any financial responsibility in her matrimonial home.

According to her, her marriage is her main source of income and she doesn’t spend a dime out of her money to do anything at home.
She mentioned that her husband hardly ever asks her to pay bills or purchase anything with her own money except if he borrows from her and pays her back.
Shamim Mayanja explained that her husband is very disciplined in that regard and refunds her money while also adding that she has a book to document every money her husband borrows from her.

Samim Mayanja statement garnered reactions from social media users who didn’t wait to give their two cents. While many netizens were not in support, some acknowledged that gender equality is slowly becoming feasible in most relationships.

The South African man named Themba Tom Ntuli appreciated his wife, Katlee Ntuli, for her supporting role in his life.
