A determined 75-year-old grandmother has fulfilled her dream of furthering her education after she earned a master’s degree.
The woman identified as Notozi Jennifer Mgobozi bagged a Master’s degree from Walter Sisulu University, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Although Notozi Jennifer Mgobozi earned a Bachelor’s degree in the 1960s, her brother-in-law advised her to become a teacher.

She earned a degree from the Tshiya College of Education, and her passion for teaching grew; She speaks more than four languages and became more passionate about teaching languages.
In 2016, she decided to further her education at Walter Sisulu University after many years of working as a teacher.
She said, “I got so excited when my supervisor informed me that I was graduating, mostly because this achievement is part of a legacy that I’m leaving behind for other people to benefit from and be inspired by.”
When Notozi Jennifer Mgobozi informed her family about her decision to further her education, they asked when she was going to stop but they didn’t discourage her.
“When I first told my family that I wanted to study they asked me when I was going to stop wanting to learn. At first they weren’t too sure, but they didn’t discourage me,” she said.

Meanwhile, a determined 57-year-old woman from Ghana, Elizabeth Yamoah has re-enrolled in high school to complete her education.
The quinquagenarian re-enrolled into a junior high school with her granddaughter at Agona Odoben Presby.
Her feat served as an inspiring one to many her age in Africa and beyond.
