A Nigerian lady took to social media to share a startling video of soldier ants invasion in her kitchen.
The lady had just prepared rice intending to eat it when she returned from school that day, but soldier ants had other plans for her.
When the lady returned from school, she discovered that soldier ants had invaded her kitchen. This includes the pot of rice she had cooked earlier.

The lady lamented on TikTok that the pot of food she intended to eat was infested with a colony of soldier ants, leaving her with no choice but to opt for the next available meal, garri.
In the video, she said, “God, look at my pot of rice, this is something I was daydreaming to come back and eat, I don’t even know where to start from.”
Still in shock, especially as there were no ants before she left for school, the lady took the pot outside to show clearly how severe the situation was.
It is unknown what caused this, but soldier ants are known to migrate quite often. In this case, it seems to be due to extreme temperatures.
These ants may have migrated to her kitchen as we approach the harmattan/dry season.
