A Nigerian lady has claimed that the recently released Naira notes fade when it comes in contact with water.
The lady identified as Chinazo took to Twitter to share what happened to her sister’s new currency that she forgot in her pocket.
Chinazo shared pictures of the new note that had quickly faded off as if it were bleached.

According to her, if rain should soak someone holding the new Naira notes in their pocket, the person could end up being stranded.
She tweeted, “So my sis forgot the new currency in her pocket and washed it, this is what it turned out to! If rain drenches you and this money is your only hope, you’d be stranded!”

However, her post sparked a series of reactions on social media, with many people calling a pathetic liar.
Some others said she was a clout-chaser, who was only seeking engagements for her post.
One @th3charmin mentioned that Chinazo’s sister obviously got the fake notes and not the authentic ones. However, Chinazo protested, saying it’s the original notes.

Food seller attacks man who paid with new notes
Meanwhile, a local-restaurant owner reportedly assaulted a customer who paid her with the newly redesigned Naira note.
The restaurant owner manhandled her customer for making payment with the redesigned 1,000 Naira note.
She gripped the man’s shirt and demanded payment with the old notes, she said she doesn’t know the new notes.
