A Nigerian man has dragged a lady who collected transport fare from him but didn’t show up to court.
The man had given the lady N3,000 to visit him, but after collecting the money, she didn’t turn up as agreed.
He dragged her to a magistrate court, accusing her of collecting money by false pretence.
The Enugu-based man revealed that the lady switched off her phone after collecting the money.
A deterrent to other women
In his verdict, the magistrate ordered the lady to pay the sum of N150k as compensation for not honouring the agreement she entered into.
The story was shared on micro-blogging platform, Twitter by one @egi_nupe, who said the verdict served as a warning to other ladies to desist from such behaviour.
He said, “A court in Enugu has reportedly set a good precedent by awarding damages of 150k against a lady. She was given 3k as transport fare to visit a guy and after collecting the money, she switched off her phone and refused to visit him.
Infuriated by her action, the reported and sued her for deceit. In the judgement, the magistrate held that the lady’s action was deceitful and awarded the sum of 150k against her to serve as deterrence to others with such deceitful behavior.”

Man sues side-chick for insulting wife, wins N8m damages
Meanwhile, a Nigerian man was awarded N8 million in damages after he sued his side-chick for insulting his wife.
The court also ordered the side-chick to issue an apology to the man’s wife. The young lady (side chick) did not only insult the wife of this man, but she also exposed his raws online.
The man was awarded N5 million damages against the said lady for exposing the man’s raw images without his permission, while the wife was awarded N3 million for the insults she received.
