An NYSC teacher named Abayomi Daniel has brought fame and glory to his alma mater, Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta.
This is after he led some students of the school to outstanding success, with the boys emerging famous winners of the Armed forces secondary schools mathematics Olympiad competition.
Navy boy, Awofegha Victor, emerged first overall at the national level. This is after he won first at the southwest zonal level of the same competition.

Another student of NNSS Abeokuta, Enemuo Onyedika, was among the top 10 winners, placing ninth at the national level.
In a chat with our correspondent, Mr Abayomi Daniel said it was an extremely difficult route to this destination, but his determination kept him going.
He said he had to deprive himself of many things, including social media, to prepare junior and senior students.
NMC La Vouge Mathematics competition
Aside from the Olympiad mathematics competition, the young corps member also tutored his students to glory at the mathematics competition organised by La Vogue British international school in conjunction with the National Mathematic Centre (NMC).
His proteges, Awofegha Victor and Popoola Boluwatife came fifth and ninth, respectively, at the one-day fiesta.
VIP treatment for a job well done
To celebrate the outstanding success recorded by the young lads, they were invited by the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) to force headquarters in Abuja.
The Directorate of Naval Education who received the boys on behalf of the CNS gave them VIP treatment, and encouraged them to keep up the good work. They were also presented with gifts.
