ORTOM WARNS PDP NOT TO IGNORE WIKE

On Monday, Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, claimed that the People’s Democratic Party’s national leadership had not used its internal mechanisms to address the crisis engulfing the party.

He claimed that the party would be in grave danger if Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, and his staff were ignored. At the party stakeholder meeting held in Makurdi’s new banquet hall of the government house, Ortom made this statement.

The governor insisted that the party’s national leadership address the injustices done to Wike and other party members. The party might be doomed, according to Ortom, if it tries to ignore the governor of Rivers State or any other member of the team.

“I think it will be dangerous if you dismiss us and say you don’t need us. In order for us to cooperate and avoid a crisis as the elections approach, I want the party to address the injustices.

He continued, “My friend Wike has been treated unfairly because he stood up for the party and gave it his all.

“The party’s leadership should take action to solve the issue rather than treating individuals as if they are irrelevant. Everyone has a voice, and one vote can determine success or failure in the elections.

He continued, “National PDP failed to resolve the crisis that was shaking the party by using its internal mechanisms.

Speaking about the caucus meeting, Ortom stated that the stakeholders’ gathering was to go over the creation of the state’s campaign council.

The governor claimed that the APC had received unfair treatment in the state and added that the PDP was likely to win every elective office in the upcoming elections.
