Popular singer Robert Sylvester Kelly, A.K.A R. Kelly, has been ordered to pay Heather Williams N1.8 billion.
A Brooklyn Court convicted Robert Sylvester Kelly of child exploitation and racketeering in September 2021. Jurors found him guilty on all counts despite the prosecutors’ faults.
Decades of abuse allegations against minors led to a 30-year federal prison sentence for R. Kelly.

Trapped in the closet
The judge granted Williams access to the money from R. Kelly’s Sony Music Royalty account. BET reported that Williams is the first victim to receive access to the singer’s royalties after a Supreme Court ruling in Illinois.
Williams was just one out of all the victims in Kelly’s legal suits.
Kelly’s victims, who testified at his trial last year, delivered impact statements before his sentencing. Angela, a victim, called out the accused for luring children with his celebrity status and money.
She stated that Kelly used his fame and power to groom and coach underage children for his s3xual gratification, and today, they reclaim their names.
Angela prayed for God to reach Kelly’s soul. Kelly’s case came from accusations by nine women, and at least 45 people testified against him during the trial.
