This was a redesigned version of the PS3. It was referred to commonly as “PS3 slim”, and was the one officially branded as “PS3”. PS3 slim had some upgraded features such as a storage space of 120GB, 160GB, 250GB, and 320GB.

It is smaller by 33% and weighs lighter by 36%. It consumes 34% less power than the previous model or 1/3 of the original model.

The slim version of the PS3 was released officially on the 1st of September, 2009.
