King Charles III has been formally crowned at London’s Westminster Abbey in a solemn Christian coronation.
Thousands of people turned central London red, white and blue on Saturday, with a sea of Union Jack flags lining the streets for the coronation of the new King.

The King and Queen Camilla left Buckingham Palace aboard the Diamond Jubilee State Coach in the procession to the abbey, for the coronation.
The build-up to the ceremony; the religious confirmation of Charles’s accession after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II last September, has been mostly celebratory.
