Singer Portable charged to court for assaults, to be released on N300,000 bail

Popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola better known as Portable was charged to the High court in Ogun state with charges of assault.

The Zazoo crooner was taken to police custody after he insulted police officers and allegedly injured one of them. The policemen had stormed his bar to carry out their duty on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

However, Portable’s action towards the officers landed him in court on March 31, 2023, after being instructed to show up within 72 hours following his irrational behaviour.

The Public Relations Officer of the police force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, mentioned that he would face six assault charges.

According to Punch, Portable was granted bail in the High court in the sum of N300,000 and must provide two guarantors who live in the court’s vicinity.

The court instructed that Portable should be moved to Ilaro correctional centre until his bail is paid, and the commencement of the trial was deferred to April 26.

Meanwhile, Portable left many social media confused after he unveiled his new bar on Instagram.
