Aza

This is a different word for the account number. If you are asked to send your ‘aza’, or drop your ‘aza’,  that means that you should drop your account number. When you’re told to drop your ‘aza’, don’t hold back. Drop your digits as soon as possible.

Former militant leader in Niger Delta, Asari Dokubo, was a topic of discussion after the phrase he uttered ’70 years old man’ went viral from a video recording.

Dokubo was addressing the issues in the country In a video and was cited to have said, “When the issue of Biafra came, Charly Boy denounced his support for Biafra. We are rascals; we are so so thing, 70 years old man o.”

This slang was brought to life by Davido, and it can be used in many situations. Some use it to express shock, excitement, and mockery, amongst others.

Sapa

Sapa is another word or phrase to refer to being broken. When someone is short of cash, it is said that sapa has shown the person pepper. ‘Make sapa no hold us like say we collect en wife oo’.

This slang is related a lot to the person doing well in life. People who want to do well like their friends.

They are of the thought that their friend that is doing well has gone beyond his way to be successful. To jokingly give them part of the soap for them to also bath so that they can also be living in riches.

After the slang went viral, it became an everyday saying. Not only amongst you know who, but everybody that can relate to the slang. The slang ‘Cut soap for me’ can also mean ‘show me the way.’

‘Wahala be like bicycle’, this slang is used to vent unfriendly situations. When something spiteful happens, people gesture with their hands and shout, ‘Wahala be like bicycle’.

We muevvvvve is one of the slang in the country that was made popular by skit maker ‘Broda Shaggi’. The slang is somewhat of a motivation, especially when the chiefs are down for someone. The person would gladly accept what their situation has become and move on from there.
