Speechless: Nigerian man born without hands plays bass guitar beautifully, holds master’s degree

Djabo Simeon Oghenevwegba was born with either of his hands, but that didn’t stop him from achieving great things.

In a video that BBC News Africa released, Simeon shared his experience of living without no hands and, how he rose to stardom with his disability.

He said he was actually born like that, and after his birth, even the doctor was scared to give him to mummy, and they wondered how he survived because the placenta had ruptured.

His childhood was difficult 

In the video, he described how difficult his childhood was. He could not go to school for some time even though his siblings were going to school.

The teachers advised his mum to take him to a special school for deformed kids because all effort was aborted. 

Until one day when he proved all the teachers wrong and  started writing with his elbow and everyone was surprised

 He used the technique to complete his B.Sc and Masters degree.  

Djabo is a musician 

He started with the drums, he was playing at Assemblies of God church and was good at it but no one would allow him to touch the guitar because he lacked hands.

So one day, he just noticed the way a lady the guitar but at that time she was learning, and he got interested in it so he took it and played a little and it was good, everyone was surprised, so they told him to continue.

Work on your mind

Now, he is a pro at it and has shared the stage with many big gospel artistes in Nigeria like Sinach, Frank Edwards, Buchi and many more.

In the video, his message to people was that they should not look at their challenges but work on their minds to achieve great things, nothing can prevent you from greatness except your mind.

43-year-old man bags university degree after serving as school janitor

In another news, Tylan Bailey, a remarkable 43-year-old American who formerly worked as a janitor at one of Georgia’s high schools, has earned his degree from Georgia State University.

He devoted 24 years to working as the Hightower Elementary School custodian in DeKalb County, Georgia, in the United States, with so much diligence and dedication. 

Yet, after working for a while, he was able to pursue his passion of becoming a teacher.
