This Swedish institute scholarship for Global Professionals is a unique opportunity for those who want to achieve a master’s degree program which will help them develop leadership and academic skills.

The scholarship is a one or two years full-time scholarship which is funded by the Sweden ministry of foreign affairs.

How to apply For Swedish Institute Scholarship.

Swedish institute scholarship

To be successful in your application make sure that, first you are eligible to take this scholarship and that you follow all the steps outlined here properly

The steps are

  1. Apply for any 4 masters program in Sweden before January 16th, 2023, an eight-digit code will be sent to you, save it properly
  1. Apply for the Global Professional scholarship. You apply by submitting all the required documents on their portal which will open on 10th February and Close on 28th February by 2:59 pm CET
  1. After screening, the first result will be released on the 30th of March for candidates who won the award
  1. Final screening
  1. Announcement on 27th of April of the final winners

SI Standards to Win the Scholarship.

To be considered as an eligible candidate, you must meet all these standards given, although there are a few exceptions given to candidates from some countries

Citizenship

The first criterion is your citizenship. You must come from one of the eligible countries. The list of eligible countries is below.

However, even if you are not residing in the eligible country at the time of application, your application will still be valid.

Work Experience

To be eligible for this scholarship you should have at least 3,000 hours of work experience. 

This experience can be part-time, full time or as a freelancer. But, it must add up to 3,000 hours of working experience as of 10th February 2022.

If you do not have that quantity of work experience you can wait until the next badge of scholars is taken, because any work experience less than 3,000 will be disqualified.

Also, you will be considered more if you have a work background related to sustainable development.

University Admission 

You must be an admitted student into one of the SI institutions before 30th March 2023.

Also, you must apply for a course that is eligible for the Swedish institution scholarship.

The SI scholarship has a bad variety of over 700 courses in about 30 institutions, so you can’t run out of options.

Remember that, priority will be given to those who choose a field that is related to the United Nations 2030 agenda for sustainable development.

Leadership Experience 

A strong leadership experience will give you priority over other applicants.

Documents Needed to apply for Swedish Institution Scholarship

There are 5 documents that you need to stand a chance to win this scholarship. Anything short of these documents will make your application to be disqualified

  • A SI template Curriculum vitae (CV), should not exceed 3 pages.
  • Two printed Letters of reference which are signed and stamped. One must be from your work experience.
  • A letter to prove work and leadership experience
  • A copy of your passport or national ID
  • Motivation letter

Also note that, if you are already residing in Sweden no travel grant will be given to you.

Stipends

If you win the scholarship you will be paid SEK 11,000 per month to cover your living expenses throughout the scholarship

Health insurance 

The scholarship also allows you to claim Sweden health insurance for foreigners. This insurance lasts as long as you are a visitor.

Other benefits 

After gaining the scholarship you will automatically become a member of the SI Network for Future Global Professionals.

Also, after graduation, you’ll become a part of the SI Alumni Association, which helps to gain stronger connections with different professionals that will aid your career growth.
