A talented African man has shown off his creativity after he built a full-scale classic 1967 Ford Mustang GT500 car using only wires.

The wire art solo entrepreneur displayed some of his lovely works on social media platform, Instagram, and it caught the eyes of many people.

As a young boy, Conty Fonane developed a strong affection for automobiles because his father used to engage him daily with talks about cars.

Strong influence by his father

Conty’s father showed him several pictures of different cars and lectured him about the engineering behind the vehicles.

He said, “I remember my dad talking about cars almost every day. He would show me pictures, talk about engineering, and explain how cars were built by hand. It inspired me.”

All this background training, his skills, and a great determination to produce excellent works led him to make such amazing wire cars.

It took about seven months of hard work and $10,852 (N4.99 million) at a Johannesburg showroom before the classic 1967 Mustang was produced.

A business is born

He said he initially wanted to produce vehicles so he could make money from them, but that later changed, and a business was borne out of his love for cars.

Conty Fonane also revealed that it was quite challenging to make such cars, but his sheer determination and love for cars saw him through the finish line.

“When I first started making these cable cars, I thought I was just trying to sell them to make money so I could find myself in a car or car designer business. But it continued until it became a business.

Every angle of this car was quite challenging. The car wanted to defend itself by telling me “Conty you can’t do me”. But I said to the car, “I’ll do you because I’m in love with you”. That’s how it worked… If the Ford company appreciated and exhibited this car in their museum, that’s what I particularly wanted,” he said.
