Tecno Pouvoir 2: Price, features, and more

The Tecno Pouvoir 2 may not be as extraordinary as the Samsungs and phones of this world; it is no ordinary smartphone either.

Is the Tecno Pouvoir 2 a trendy device? No. Is it a high-end gadget? No. Is it a must-have for those who want the perks of a high-end device but can only afford an entry-level one? Absolutely.

What is the Tecno Pouvoir 2?

The Tecno Pouvoir 2 (also called Tecno LA7) is an entry-level smartphone with some features of high-end smartphones. These features include reduced bezels, Face ID, and 4G connectivity, to name a few.

If you have never heard a thing about the Tecno Pouvoir 2, then you will be pleased to know that it’s an easy target for those who seek quality with a tight budget.

Tecno Mobile announced the phone to the market in May 2018 and subsequently released it that same month.

Why would I want this?

It is cheap, for starters. And if your net worth doesn’t help you make the Wealth Collection list, then it is a good start.

Now we reach the fun bit.

What should I expect when opening the phone pack?

When you open the pack of this smartphone, the first thing you will see is the device itself. A label is attached to it containing brief information about the device. Discard that since you’re reading this post.

Inside the phone pack, you will also find a 5V charger, a micro-USB cable, an earpiece, a warranty and Boomplay music card, a sim ejector tool, Pouvoir 2 user manual, and your silicon case.

Like many other entry-level smartphones, the Pouvoir 2 is made entirely of plastic. An exterior like that is not bad in any sense. In fact, it is exactly what you would expect from an entry-level device.

On the back of the device, you will find the 13 MP camera, LED dual flash, and fingerprint sensor. On the right side of the device, you will find the dual micro-sim slot, along with the volume rockers and power button.

The left side contains the memory card slot. At the bottom of the phone, you will find the micro-USB charging port and the speaker grill.

At the top of the device, you will see your audio jack.

Booting up this phone might give you a thrill. It is similar to the Tecno Phantom 8 in all but performance. The user interface is the same as the one on Tecno Phantom 8. Some argue that this is because, like the Tecno Phantom 8, the Pouvoir 2 also starts with a P.

Generally, the Tecno Pouvoir 2 looks stunning for a budget smartphone. Nice curved edges and a simple rear finish.

Now, let’s talk screen.

The Tecno Pouvoir 2 offers an HD+ resolution and a fairly large display too. Partly due to the minimal bezels, the smartphone is easy to handle even with one hand. Sized at 6.0 inches, the display has 1440 X 720 pixels resolution with 2.5D curved glass.

Battery and Camera Quality

There is enough juice inside the Tecno Pouvoir 2 to surpass the conventional daily power output common with most smartphones. Backed by a large 5,000 mAh Li-Po battery, the smartphone is not afraid of intensive usage.

You could even say it was created for that purpose.

However, this device does not offer premium fast charge or wireless charging. You would have to browse for more expensive smartphones for that.

For photography, the Tecno Pouvoir2 packs a suitable 13MP camera on the rear side with a flash, and the front has an 8MP camera also having a flash. While this is nothing spectacular, it is ideal enough for a smartphone of this caliber.

Hardware and Software

Being affordable, the smartphone does not offer much, but it performs well enough with a decent quad-core chipset. The Tecno Pouvoir 2 has a MediaTek MT6737 processor in charge with a Mail-T720 MP1 GPU which is fair enough for basic usage.

Furthermore, the Tecno Pouvoir 2 has 2GB RAM, while the built-in storage space is a meager 16GB that can be extended to a robust 128GB using a memory card. It also offers the latest Android 8.1 Oreo booting with the HIOS modification.
