34-yr-old lady uses her own money to pay her bride price
Meanwhile, a 34-year-old woman named Zuku, used her money to settle her own lobola (bride price) instead of leaving it for her husband, as per tradition.
In a conversation with News24, Zuku explained that when it was time to tie the knot, her boyfriend, a producer, she dated for 9 years had a financial challenge and couldn’t afford to pay her lobola.
However, her husband was against the idea at first as it is his responsibility, as a man. But to Zuku, it just made sense especially as his family were still going to cover the wedding.
