Germany and Russia were omitted in the draw and that made 53 of 55 nations that make up Uefa pitted in the qualifying fixtures in Frankfurt, Germany.

Because Germany play host to the 2024 tournament and that’s why they were omitted.

For Russia, because they are so involved in war with Ukraine they were excluded.

And at this point, it will be difficult for Russia to partake even if the war ends today.

Because of time-wasting but of course not without that paperwork and diplomatic issues that will be there it will be impossible for Russia.

There were even groups with five countries – and three groups with six teams in them. The four Nations League finalists, Croatia, and the Netherlands, Italy and Spain went into the smaller groups.

And the top two teams in each of the 10 groups qualify directly for Euro 2024.
