To make your job search easier, as a freelance writer, it is good to look at the right websites to look for jobs so that you stop wasting your time on unprofitable websites.

If you are new in the freelancer world, you can get frustrated with the countless applications you make that never give you a reply email. It’s like they ghosted you!

Sad, right? Yeah, I even prefer to get rejection emails instead of being ghosted. Rejection emails are better off. At least you will know that those employers are real, and for some reason, you need to look into why you didn’t get the job.

There are a lot of websites, both local and international, that promise a better future if you register with them. But sometimes, it’s a complete waste of time.

I’m a freelance writer, and I’ll give you some cool websites where your application never gets lost. These are good websites where you can find freelance jobs if you are a writer.

I also think that it is also a good place for other freelancers who are not in the writing field.

Best Websites to Find Freelance Writer Jobs

Freelancer writer

Not all freelance writer websites are appealing. Most of them have their pros and cons. However, if I can get replies for all the applications I serve, then it means they are working.

Some of them are free. Others are paid, however, added to replies. Some other metrics I use to say which is best are

  • Usability
  • Easy Apply
  • Free
  • Ads
  • Availability of suitable jobs
  • Little or no spam jobs
  • International Clients
  • Payment Security

If you read this to the end, you will know why I’ve chosen these websites as the best for freelance jobs as a writer.

Upwork

Upwork is the first place I started looking for a writing job. Their user interface is simple, and you can apply for as many jobs as you want if you have the energy.

You will need to register, confirm your email and fill in all the details you are asked to fill in, including your skills, experience, portfolio, certifications, and lots more.

Even if you are a new freelance writer, you can use this platform to win a lot of gigs. There are jobs for newbies as well as experts in any digital field.

However you may also meet some spammy job requests, but if you look right, you will notice them quickly and not waste your time.

Also, Upwork uses connects, connects used to apply for jobs, and free connects are given every month. If you finish yours, then you’ll have to buy another to continue on Upwork.

Internshala

This is an Indian platform. They are very intentional with jobs, especially if you have a good CV. The good thing is that if you register on this platform, you can download your CV well arranged and use it to find jobs in other places.

This platform embraces different people from different places and with different levels of expertise. They also run courses which you can apply for to enhance your skills.

There are no spammy jobs on this website (so far, I’ve seen). The only issue is the long task they give before you can be given a job. However, it is easy to find a job here.

Their payment may be low, considering the currency strength of your country. However, you can use this medium to improve your experience and get a better chance to win bigger jobs.

LinkedIn

This is a large community where you can find jobs whether you are digitally inclined or not. Many jobs are posted every day.

LinkedIn is a wonderful platform that works like some social media platforms, only that it is more professional. To get the best jobs on Linkedin, you need to tailor your resume and account to suit the kind of people you are looking for.

The resources on Linkedin can seldom be exhausted. By following groups and connecting with major influencers, you can stand a better chance of getting jobs.

You need to make your account look great by taking certification courses, improving your skills, inserting work experience, and boom. You can go on to find

LinkedIn doesn’t interfere with jobs, so they can’t be held liable if payment agreements are broken. There have a lot of international clients that can pay well for skills. However, you may fall into unfortunate hands if you don’t know how to note spam jobs.

Facebook

You’re shocked, right? I, too, was when I was told that Facebook is even better than just fun. Facebook has money on it too.

I’ve joined some groups online, and it didn’t fail. The good thing is that what you have posted is used to judge if you’ll be able to match up. On Facebook, you need to pitch clients in a very compelling manner.

By posting content that concerns your job type (for example, copywriting tips). You show that you are professional and draw others into your mind.

Joining groups that may need your services and being active helps to get clients. But just like Linkedin, there’s no payment security. Most times, you can take clients to some other more secure website and do transactions with them.

Contently

One big writers’ website is Contently, but it is not for beginners. Their payment method is very secure. Job application is not stressful at all.

All you need to do is register on the site, and they will reach out to you if your profile and portfolio match their job description.

It is easy and secure, but it is highly in need of experts.

Fiverr

Here’s another vast website. Vast in the sense that it covers a lot of countries. All you need to do is to register on this website, and you’ll get emails frequently.

If you’re someone who likes emails, then it is fine if you want to use Fiverr.

Fiverr is secure and has good payment policies. You can search out spam jobs if you look closely.
