A popular social media influencer and Nigerian doctor shares why women have miscarriage in their first pregnancies.
The doctor, popularly known as Aproko Doctor, took to TikTok to share a video educating women on the varying causes of their miscarriages.
Before he went on to explain, he corrected the term used by many ‘miscarriage’. He said the widely accepted term was pregnancy loss.

Why women have miscarriage in their first pregnancies
His major audience in the video were women who have had early pregnancy loss – that is women who lost their babies at the first trimester.
He shared that women in this category are always fond of blaming themselves, their diet, ways of life, etc. especially if it was their first pregnancy.
He encouraged such women to take their eyes off themselves and stop blaming themselves. He said that early pregnancy loss can occur whether you did something or not.
According to him, many of those cases of pregnancy loss is because the embryo will simply not survive if it is born due to some gene or chromosomal disorder, so the body gets rid of the baby early enough.
