Pat Akem-Vingir, a Pastor of ‘Jesus House’, under the Redeemed Christian Church of God has stated that upholding the role the church plays in Nigeria is vital.
It was during the RCCG branch’s dedication event in Abuja that the Pastor issued the statement on the connection that exists between religion and good governance.
Among those present at the event were Pastor Enoch Adeboye who served as the host of the ceremony, as well as other dignitaries and members of the RCCG who graced the event.

The new RCCG branch in the Durumi area of Abuja that was dedicated is a 5-storey building that can accommodate up to 3,000 church congregants in a sitting.
The event’s host, Pastor Adeboye thanked God for seeing the project through to its triumphant conclusion.
In his words;
“We thank God for this great day, and for the successful completion of this wonderful edifice. We pray that this building will be a beacon of hope for the afflicted and a place of worship for generations to come.”

According to Akem-Vingir, the church is important to Nigeria’s social and economic structure. He emphasized that the majority of young people in the nation find a sense of hope, purpose and direction in religion, particularly the church.
He further addressed the role the church plays in society by claiming. According to him, If the church were not in Nigeria serving as the light of the world and as the salt of the earth, Nigerians would have suffered much more.
“If you remove the church from Nigeria, the country will collapse. People may deny it, but I am saying it unapologetically.
If the church were not in Nigeria doing what it is doing; serving as the light of the world and as the salt of the earth, the degradation would have been more than we can imagine.
70% of the country is youthful. You can’t allow that kind of generation to be wasted. The church is a place where they can find hope, direction and purpose,” he said.

Meanwhile, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the Redeemed Christian Church of God‘s General Overseer, expressed his belief that with the help of God, President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will be able to rebuild Nigeria.
This happened during a regularly scheduled Thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos State,
Adeboye, represented by his Special Assistant, Pastor Dele Balogun, also stated that Tinubu’s administration would bring prosperity to Nigeria, and urged him to make Nigerians’ hopes for a new beginning a reality.
