Cristiano Ronaldo stormed off the field in frustration after Portugal suffered a 2-0 defeat against Slovenia in a friendly match on Tuesday night.
Despite sitting out the previous game against Sweden, which marked Roberto Martinez’s 11th consecutive win in charge, Ronaldo returned to the starting lineup in Ljubljana.

However, second-half goals from midfielders Adam Cerin and Timi Elsnik secured an unexpected victory for Slovenia, leaving Ronaldo visibly displeased.
Video footage captured the Al Nassr star briskly leaving the pitch at the final whistle. Portugal managed ten shots during the match, with two opportunities falling to Ronaldo, but they failed to convert any chances against a determined Slovenian side, who are set to compete in the same group as England in Euro 2024.
Ronaldo, Portugal’s all-time leading scorer, had minimal impact on the game, often seeking fouls and appealing to officials rather than influencing the outcome.
Martinez continued his winning streak with Portugal, defeating Sweden 5-2 in their previous match, with Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United among the scorers.
However, they will need to reassess their strategy ahead of upcoming friendlies against Finland, Croatia, and Ireland as they prepare for the European Championships.
Portugal’s Euro 2024 opponents include Czechia, Turkey, and Georgia, while Slovenia, who recently drew 2-2 with Malta, will face Armenia and Bulgaria before the tournament.
Both teams will compete in Germany, with Portugal scheduled to play Denmark and Serbia before their crucial encounter against England in Cologne on June 25.
