Having earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Desmond acknowledged that he may not consider himself the smartest individual. Nevertheless, his unwavering determination propelled him to continuously strive for greatness and pursue remarkable accomplishments.

How a single dad earned a Master’s degree while working in 3 companies?
Speaking with ABC7, he said, “I never considered myself being the smartest person but the drive and the determination to keep going.”
Throughout his academic journey, Desmond drew inspiration from his 9-year-old son, who served as a constant motivation for him.
Balancing multiple responsibilities, Desmond worked as a health and physical education teacher at Barringer High School during the day. In the afternoons, he took on the role of district coordinator for Newark’s elementary basketball program. Additionally, during the evenings, he dedicated his time as a teacher for adults seeking their General Education Diplomas (GEDs) at Newark Evening High School.
Remarkably, Desmond managed to fulfil all three job commitments while being a full-time Master’s student at Montclair State University. “Dedication, hard work and long days, long nights, it’s the will,” he further added, when he was asked how he was able to pull through all of it.
