A Rare Gem: Nigerian lady bags first class degree in Chemical Engineering from UK university

A brilliant Nigerian lady has achieved enormous success after graduating with a first-class degree abroad.

Named Mervin Ekpen Azeta, the lady made the honours in Chemical Engineering and Reservoir Engineering. This is after bagging a first class at the University of Benin, 2005-2010.

Mervin Azeta now works as a Lead Engineer with Schlumberger. She has also been a source of spiritual motivation as she actively professes Christ.

Mervin proceeded to the Imperial College London for her Master’s degree

On LinkedIn, she narrated that growing up she was told Engineering is not quite a discipline for girls.

In her own words, “To think I was once told that engineering isn’t quite a discipline for girls; they would normally drop off after a few years of undergrad study. Well, look how far I have come, by GOD’S infinite grace, love and mercy,”

Single mum who graduated with first-class degree, back hawking on the street

In another story, a single mum who graduated with a first-class degree returned to hawking on the street so she can fend for herself and two children.

The Ghanaian woman, identified as Priscilla Akwagu, earned a first-class Bachelor of Arts degree in Twi Education.

During an interview with Joy News, she revealed that although she graduated from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), hawking remains her only source of income.
