Boy wins N16m Bet, argues with boss over 50 percent share

An apprentice has gone viral online after he won 16 million naira from a bet, and his boss asked for a 50 percent cut.

This has led to several debates online about whether the boy should share the money with his boss or not.

A Twitter user by the name of Oku narrated the incident on Twitter.

He wrote:

So this boy who is currently undergoing his Apprenticeship with oga at Alaba market won 16 million naira on BET and his boss requested he shared the money into 2. Meaning his boss goes with 8million.

I hear the market people supported his boss so he had to oblige.

According to reports, many sided with the boss and explained that the apprenticeship system allows the boss to ask for a 50 percent share.

Others criticized the boss from a different point of view, asking if he would bear the loss with his apprentice if he hadn’t won.
