Man builds N58 million house after his wife left him due to poverty

Years after his wife abandoned him for being too poor, Mzee Jumanne Kingu built his N58 million dream house.

Kingu claimed that his ex-wife left him because he used to live in a mud hut and was so poor that he couldn’t afford to buy clothes or other necessities.

“I used to wear tattered clothes and put some torn pieces on the bed as a mattress. I didn’t even have a blanket but I didn’t give up in life,” he told Global TV Online on February 26.

“Later on, I moved into a wooden house and would work, then buy a cow, put together some money and buy a goat. I met Mzee Sanari Tumbe and he told me if I get money I should buy a cow and not spend all of it,” he added.

After acquiring a few domestic animals, Kingu began to trade them for land, which he split and sold to other buyers. That was how his entry into the real estate industry began.

Kingu was a controversial figure in his hometown because he was charged with gender-based abuse against 22 children there. However, he was set free due to lack of evidence.

They are all envious of my house

He claimed that the issue was brought about by those who were envious of his achievement, which includes his N58 million home.

“When I was dirt poor, they used to call me a witch doctor. Now that I am rich they say that I’m a Freemason, have a snake and a woman in the house,” he said.

“They want people to know that I got my money through witchcraft,” he added.

Kingu’s three-story expansive home contained bathrooms with both hot and cold water in each of the rooms.

The home contained four rooms on the ground floor, two rooms and a living room on the first floor, and a room and a resting area for fresh air on the second story.

Mzee shared that he is searching for a wife, but the trauma of having his first wife leave him was still fresh in his mind.

“I pray that God gives me a good woman. I need a wife and even today I’m ready to marry,” he added.
