The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has come under heavy criticism over what appears to be a gaffe as he appointed Kolapo Alimi as the ‘minister’ of information and public enlightenment.
The government goofed on Wednesday while swearing in 25 new commissioners at an oath-taking ceremony in Osogbo.
BattaFiles understands that commissioners are appointed at the state level, while ministers are appointed at the federal level.
Alimi was a commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs under the administration of Rauf Aregbesola.

He defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support the governorship campaign of Adeleke.
He served as the commissioner affairs under Rauf Aregbesola.
Rather than appoint commissioners since Nov. 2022 when he was sworn-in, he chose to run selected ministries with supervisors.
Recall that Adeleke in 2018 forged the secondary school testimonial produced to INEC but deliberately omitted it for the 2022 election.
He was also found to have lied in 2018 that he obtained a diploma in a U.S. varsity, during the preparation for the Osun Governorship election.
