13-year-old girl set to become a doctor at 18 after gaining admission to US university

Exceptional talent, Alena Analeigh Wicker set a record as the youngest African American girl to gain admission into medical school in the US.

Alena, aged 13 secured admission into the University of Alabama Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine.

The young prodigy previously gained admission to study Engineering at Arizona State University at 12 years old. After a year of studying Engineering, Alena decided to make a switch to become a Medical doctor.

She took a full course load at Arizona State University and after a year she had two and a half years of college studying Engineering.

She told 12news, ” I really want to leave my mark on the world. And lead a group of girls that know what they can do.”

The previous year, Alena pictured herself as an Engineer, working for NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

She admitted that it took only one class for her to know Engineering was not where she wanted to be.

She stated that her passion for volunteering and engaging with the world brought viral immunology into full view for her.

As one not new to switching interests, she resolved to become a doctor at 18 after having an initial interest to be an astronomer.

However, she switched to Engineering because of her love for building things. She has been able to embrace medicine as one who is capable of taking up challenges.

Alena is currently a student at both Arizona State University and Oakwood University, earning two separate undergraduate degrees in biological sciences.

Intelligent Boy Who Walked 5km Everyday To Do Homework Gains Admission To 12 US Universities With Full Scholarship

Meanwhile, a young and intelligent boy who walked 5km every day to solve his homework gained admission into 12 top US universities with full scholarships.

The boy identified as LaShawn Samuel went through a tough road in his academic journey as he struggled in poverty.
