An 18-year-old mom, Trameka Pope proved that with determination we can achieve anything. She emerged valedictorian in her high school with scholarships despite all odds.
In addition to the prestigious award, Trameka was awarded $600k in scholarships to 25 universities in the United States.
Trameka, who now holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health shared her struggles of being homeless and a mom and how she motivated herself to attain the feat.
She told Fox 32, “I always said that i wanted to make a change and i wanted to be in the history books, and I started with myself.”
“I didn’t give up. I pushed myself hard and my baby motivated me every day because i wanted to provide for her and i also didn’t want to be a statistic,” She added.
After she emerged valedictorian at Wendell Philips Academy, she was offered admission to 25 universities with all of them offering scholarship awards worth over $600k.
However, she decided to attend Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois where she studied for her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health.
She graduated with honours in 2018 and immediately enrolled for her Master’s Degree in Public Health and graduated in 2021.
Trameka Pope works full time as a brand ambassador for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago. She is an inspiration to young girls who are faced with the challenge of stepping up despite obstacles and mistakes.

Meanwhile, a brilliant Nigerian lady identified as Comfort Chukwuere bagged three scholarships to study at the University of California.
The scholarships include two Master’s degrees and one Ph.D. scholarships
Comfort celebrated the huge success via her LinkedIn where she narrated her journey to the moment she received the scholarship.
