- AY has announced that he is no longer interested in reconciling with his longtime industry rival, Basketmouth.
- The two have been engaged in beef for 17 years, which AY claimed stemmed from an unpaid N30,000 debt owed to him by Basketmouth.
- However, Basketmouth denied the debt and emphasized that they were never friends, to begin with.

In a recent interview with Teju Babyface, AY revealed that he had been making continuous efforts to reconcile with Basketmouth over the years.
However, he has now decided to let go of the feud and stated that he doesn’t mind taking it to his grave unresolved.
He mentioned that their senior colleagues in the comedy industry were aware of his attempts to reconcile with Basketmouth.

They advised him to stop forcing reconciliation, as friendship should not be coerced. Despite his efforts, AY realized that Basketmouth was not receptive to the idea of rebuilding their relationship.

He even mentioned an instance during one of his stand-up comedy routines where he referred to Basketmouth as his friend, only for their dispute to reignite the next day.
