In a recent statement, Phyna shared her personal inclination towards identifying as a man, shedding light on her individual journey and perspective on gender identity.
She explained that even though she has the body of a woman, she feels more like a man on the inside. this feeling comes from how society sees and treats women, with stereotypes and difficulties. these challenges led her to decide to identify as a man, choosing a gender that feels truer to her own experiences and beliefs.

On the latest Big Friday Show with her fellow bb naija member Tacha on Cool FM Nigeria, Phyna opened up about a recent online dispute with Davido. In this honest conversation, Phyna provided details about the unfolding events and dynamics surrounding the disagreement with the renowned artist.
She expressed, that, “I’m a woman, but most of the time, I want to identify as a man. In my next world, I want to be a man.”

She went on to say, that, “I am a woman physically, but I can identify as a man because most times they just try to talk down on you because you are a woman. And personally, when you do something to me that I don’t like, no matter who you are, I will call you out.
For example, what happened between me and David [Davido] when he said he didn’t know me. Everybody said, ‘Phyna, you should have taken the opportunity to introduce yourself.’ No! Because he is David (Davido) doesn’t mean I have to kiss ar**.”
She claimed that the society placed men’s heads and shoulders above women. The reality star also mentioned that society should be kinder and fairer to women.
