Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Charles Chibueze Chukwu known professionally as Crayon has opened up on how he abandoned school to focus fully on music.
In a recent interview with Kim Oprah on Hip TV, the Mavin signee disclosed that he gave up on obtaining a university degree after taking the UTME five times.
Although he was halfway through the post-UTME at the University of Lagos, he made the decision to leave the examination hall without informing his parents.
The singer further shared that meeting Baby Fresh led him to music executive Don Jazzy, who eventually signed him to the Mavin record label.
Despite the demanding nature of juggling music and school in Nigeria, Crayon discussed his conversation with his parents, where he expressed his desire to pursue music wholeheartedly.

His father suggested giving the fifth attempt a chance but ultimately supported his decision to pursue music if it didn’t work out.
