Davido reveals why he performed at Alex Otti’s inauguration

Afrobeat sensation, Davido, has clarified why he performed at the inauguration ceremony of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.

Following the emergence of a video capturing the singer’s performance in Umuahia after the swearing-in of Governor Otti and his deputy, Ikechuckwu Emetu, speculations arose regarding the expenditure involved in bringing the musician to the event.

In response to the critics, Davido took to Twitter and stated that he did not receive any payment for his performance.

He further mentioned his longstanding acquaintance with Governor Otti and expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to serve the people of Abia State effectively.

In his tweet, Davido wrote, “Not a dime. I’ve known Excellency (Alex Otti) all my life, and I’m sure he will do well for the people of Abia State.”

By clarifying that he performed at the inauguration ceremony without receiving any financial compensation, Davido aimed to dismiss the notion that the governor’s decision to have him perform was a wasteful use of resources.
