The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has seized Abuja properties belonging to Mallam Shehu Dikko.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has seized Abuja properties belonging to Mallam Shehu Dikko.

The immediate past Chairman of the League Management Company was busy in Benin City putting finishing touches to his preparation ahead of the Elective Congress of the Nigeria Football Federation where he was vying for the position of President while ICPC officials were in Abuja sealing his properties for seizure.

Dikko, who was the overwhelming favourite to win the election eventually lost to Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

The last 48 hours must rank as the worst ever for the former second Vice President of the NFF.

Dikko lost his Abuja home and several other properties to the Federal Government before he finished a distant third in the NFF Presidential Elections.

Dikko could only record six votes in Friday’s Elections.

At the Election venue, Dikko was a very broken man, he cut the image of a man in very serious trouble.

Earlier this month, Dikko ceased to be the Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC) after the league organising outfit was scrapped by the Federal Government.

Dikko’s house and the parked cars within the premises came under permanent forfeiture on Thursday. “Seized by ICPC” was inscribed on the property.

The ICPC has therefore been granted an order by the court to seize the house.

The house on River Benue Street, Maitama, Abuja, was first sealed three
years ago by the same anti-corruption agency, ICPC.

Then ICPC warned the public to keep off the property as it was under investigation.

The agency said then it will seek interim forfeiture of the property as well as 14 others belonging to then NFF President Melvin Amaju Pinnick and several other NFF top officials.

ICPC said then Dikko and the other officials have lived far above their means.

As of the time of filing this report, it is not yet known if the same treatment will befall Amaju Pinnick and other top officials of the NFF who had been similarly indicted for corruption.
