Edo Government honors LASU’s Star Girl, Aminat Yusuf, who Had 5.0 CGPA as recognition of her achievements 

  • The Edo state government declared its intention to provide Yusuf Aminat, the highest-achieving graduate of Lagos State University, with a salary equivalent to that of a state counsel. 
  • Governor Godwin Obaseki stated that Yusuf would also be granted a monthly allowance of N200,000 and receive sponsorship for Law School. 
  • Furthermore, Obaseki pledged that his administration would consistently recognize exceptional individuals of Edo origin, regardless of their current place of residence.

Recall that recently LASU, for the first time in its 40 years history, produced its first graduate with a perfect score of 5.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). The LASU graduate who set the new academic record is Yusuf Aminat Imoitesemeh from the Faculty of Lagos.

In a recent announcement, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State revealed that his government has granted Aminat Yusuf automatic employment as a recognition of her achievements. 

The governor shared this news on his verified Twitter account on Thursday, June 29. As reported by The Cable, Yusuf will receive a monthly up-keep allowance equivalent to the salary of a state counsel, which amounts to approximately N200,000.

Edo Government honors LASU’s Star Girl

According to a report by The Guardian, the government of the state has made a commitment to continue recognizing and honoring its indigenes who excel in various fields. The government aims to reward outstanding achievements across different areas and sectors.

In the words of the Governor: 

“We are honouring our outstanding daughter, Yusuf Aminat with automatic employment into the state’s public service and full scholarship for one year in the Nigerian Law School, where she will receive an up-keep allowance equivalent to the salary of a State Counsel, which is about N200,000. “As a government, we will continue to recognise excellence and reward our sons and daughters who bring pride to the state.” 

In addition, Governor Obaseki revealed that his administration will provide sponsorship for Yusuf’s Law School program. This means that the government will support Yusuf in pursuing her legal education and ensure the necessary funding for her studies at the Law School.

Nigerian Lady emerges as Best Student in China at graduation ceremony

Meanwhile, Ifeoma Amuche, a Nigerian student, graduated as the best student in her class at SouthWest University in China.

Ifeoma hails from Anambra State, and was a former student of Federal Polytechnic Oko.

She recently received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chinese Language and Literature, and was chosen as her class representative of international students at the graduation ceremony.
