African mums overdo

The little girl now wears a new look; a completely shaved hair, all thanks to an overzealous Grandma.

The shaving of her daughter’s hair really made the mom sad as she expressed her anger by saying, “African mums do whatever they like.”

However, the video ended happily as her daughter’s hair started growing again.

The TikTok video sparked a lot of reactions, with many stating how they would retaliate if they were in her shoes. Others, however, felt Grandma had acted with the best of intentions.

@Laura <3: No. I would be so mad.

@Tayyy: My mom would never ever get to have my child again

@Andiswa: African moms do this. Apparently, it is believed that once your child gets to a certain age “baby hair” needs to be removed. I never understood why.

@Tamara: Yes but shaving her hair will let it grow longer while she gets older. The hair she is born with will not stay like that. It changes.
