I opted for Acting After I Failed Law School- Actress Genoveva Umeh

Nigerian-British actress Genoveva Umeh has revealed that her passion for acting emerged after she failed her first year of law school.

Despite initially studying law, Umeh discovered her true calling in acting and decided to pursue it as a career.

She shared this insight on the latest episode of the Is This Seat Taken podcast, hosted by fellow Nollywood actress Chinasa Anukam.

Genoveva Umeh explained that while she had chosen to study law, she soon realized the immense effort her parents had invested in securing her education in the UK as a first-generation immigrant.

Consequently, she did not want to treat her studies as a mere hobby. At the time, she regarded acting as a pastime and planned to pursue it after completing her degree.

However, everything changed when Umeh failed her first year of law school.

This setback prompted her to reflect on her true aspirations and consider what she genuinely wanted to do, rather than feeling obligated to follow a predetermined path.
