The addition of the Best African Music Performance category recognizes the global impact and success of African acts such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tems, as well as the rise of the Afrobeats genre.

These artists have achieved chart-topping status and have become streaming powerhouses.
The “Best African Music Performance” category is inclusive of both contemporary and traditional music from the African continent, encompassing genres like Afrobeats, Afro-pop, Amapiano, High Life, Fuji, and more.
