Nigerian polytechnic students have gone beyond the norm to celebrate one of their lecturers on his birthday.
A short video that one @ademoney149 posted on TikTok captured the students who surprised their lecturer with a cake and the holy book (Quran).
One student who presented a little speech announced that the lecturer is a father to them, an encourager, and a man who helps in their academics.

Undergraduates hail the lecturer
“Sir you are more like a father to us, You took us like your children, you’ve done all a father could do, most especially we appreciate you for your effort through our HND programme,” he said.
In the video, the undergraduates were heard hailing the lecturer in the background and acknowledging him as an adviser to all of them.
Another person added that they appreciated all he does in their lives and also thanked his wife, who was right beside him.
“We want to use this medium and opportunity to say a very big thank you, we also appreciate your darling wife, we really appreciate our mother,” the young man who led the crowd continued.

Meanwhile, a lecturer at the University of Ibadan made headlines after allegedly giving $100 to students who attended his first class after the ASUU strike.
According to reports, only ten students attended the lecturer’s class, and each was rewarded with a hundred-dollar bill.
However, the lecturer came out later on to debun the news report as false.
